This foundation was established in October 18, 1995 by Hidetaro Takase who was the chief executive officer of Takase Corporation.
This foundation was authorized by the Ministry of Education on October 18, 1995 and then authorized by the Cabinet Office, Government of Japan on April 1, 2011 and Hiroshi Okayasu was elected as the representative director of the foundation.
The founding assets were donated by Hidetaro Takase and started its activity as a scholarship foundation together with Takase Corporation's contribution of working expenses.
Takase Corporation has more than 150 years history since starting its original business in 1872 as a domestic freight forwarder and has grown to one of major logistics service companies in Japan.
The company has always been very conscious of international exchange through its business activities including those in its overseas network in the Southeast Asia, USA and in other areas.
The purpose of the foundation is to give a financial support to those foreign students studying in Japan at their own expenses having strong academic zeal and good scholastic record but sustaining difficulties in continuing the study due to financial reasons.
The foundation hopes that its contribution by helping these students may serve to enrich human resources for strengthening international exchange and friendship.
